This policy covers this website — what it collects, how we use that information, and how to reach us. Confidentiality of laboratory casework is handled under our engagement with the client and is separate from this website policy.
This policy applies to https://www.microtrace.com/ and to the other Microtrace domain names that send visitors here. It does not apply to other companies’ websites we may link to.
1. Information we collect
You can browse the public site without creating an account.
If you use the Contact form, we collect the information you type (e.g., title, name, email, company, address, phone, message, whether you want occasional mail (including our Christmas card), and any file you attach). We use that information to reply to your inquiry and, if you asked, to keep you on our mailing list.
We also receive the email address you use when you write to info@microtrace.com or another Microtrace mailbox.
This site does not have a shopping cart, user accounts, mobile apps, contests, or sweepstakes.
When your browser loads a page, the web server and security tools may record technical data such as IP address, browser type, and which page was requested. We use that to run and protect the site, not to advertise.
Contact form submissions may be screened by automated spam-prevention and security tools.
Information and files sent through the Contact form travel over the public internet. Do not use the website form for highly sensitive or confidential materials.
2. How we use and share information
Inquiry information is emailed to our Microtrace mailbox and stored so we can respond and open a laboratory inquiry record. Backups of the website are kept for recovery.
We do not sell personal information.
We use third-party services only to operate the website and our email (e.g., hosting, security, contact-form delivery, fonts, and backups). Those providers may process information only as needed to provide those services.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the laboratory or the public.
3. Children
This site is for professional clients. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and the site is not directed at them.
4. Access and mailing list
To correct information you sent us through the website, to ask us to delete a website inquiry we still hold, or to leave the Christmas-card / occasional mailing list, email info@microtrace.com or write to the address below.
5. Cookies
This website uses a small number of necessary cookies so the site can run securely and so the contact form can reject automated spam. These include a security check from our hosting provider and a standard WordPress setting.
We do not use cookies for advertising. We do not load a marketing or analytics cookie on this site. If we add one later, we will update this section.
The site loads type from a font vendor (fonts.com). That is so pages can display our typeface.
You can block cookies in your browser. If you do, the contact form may not work.
6. Links to other sites
Some pages link to sites we do not operate (e.g., news coverage). Their privacy practices are their own.
7. Changes
This Privacy Policy is effective 13 September 2026. If we change it, we will post the new version here.
