Microtrace

Microtrace is proud to announce that on November 1st, Kelly Brinsko Beckert joined the Microtrace staff as a research microscopist.

Prior to joining Microtrace, Beckert served for ten years as a research microscopist and instructor at McCrone Research Institute in Chicago, where she taught courses in polarized light microscopy and conducted research on various forensic science topics, including the development of microcrystal tests for illicit drugs and the characterization of fibers subject to environmental degradation. She is a member of the Midwestern Association of Forensic Scientists, the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, and the American Society of Trace Evidence Examiners.

Kelly has also received accolades for her artistic and visually stunning photomicrography.  Kelly loves everything involving microscopy, “especially finding beautiful images in the small world through the microscope.”

She received her Bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of Florida and her Master’s in forensic science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
