Comparison Microscopy

The comparison microscope is used by scientists to compare two materials under the same illumination and optical conditions.  The bridge connects the two identical microscopes and allows a split field of view that permits a side-by-side comparison of both samples.  Hairs and fibers are the most commonly compared materials.  The human eye, through an optical microscope, can often judge slight color differences better than a quantitative instrument.
