Spectral Libraries

Spectral reference library datasets are often essential, particularly when evaluating instrumental data.   For this reason, Microtrace maintains instrumental reference collections from literally hundreds of thousands of compounds and materials.  This includes several hundred thousand infrared and Raman spectra, even larger datasets of mass spectra, and over ten thousand powder X-ray diffraction reference patterns.

While many of these datasets are commercially produced, Microtrace also builds and maintains its own spectral libraries under strict quality guidelines.  One such project involved the development of a spectral library of pigment samples, which was used to construct the most extensive pigment classification scheme ever published.  Our staff continues to expand these reference libraries by collecting high quality data from our well maintained collections of physical objects.
