Hair Reference Collection
The Microtrace hair collection is comprised of over 2,200 human and animal hair specimens. Classified on the of the basis of their scientific names, the samples are cataloged in a searchable computer database. Many of these physical samples were acquired with the cooperation of leading museums, zoos, and government agencies, and are of immeasurable value when analyzing unknown hair samples. The identification of questioned hair samples has played a pivotal role in a remarkable diversity of investigations, including criminal forensic cases, civil lawsuits, customs-related investigations, and industrial troubleshooting efforts.
